21 Year Old Lady Commits Suicide By Consuming Sniper After She received break up calls from boy friend

In not more than 24 hours when she returned from a weekend getaway with her lover, a beautiful 21-year-old lady with the name, Miss Tawa Oshunuga, reportedly committed suicide by consuming sniper after her lover of four years dumped her via a phone call. According to eyewitnesses, the late makeup artist got a call from her lover, and excused herself to pick the call – it was gathered that though nobody is sure of what ensued during the phone conversation, but after it, Oshunuga reportedly bought popular Nigerian insecticide, Sniper, drank it and died on Monday. Just before her death, the deceased who was the first child of her mother, and the only female child, reportedly called her mother, who sells pepper at Alarape Market and begged her to come home. She told the woman that she was having excruciating stomach pains. One of her friends, Tanwa Adekunle, who spoke to NewsTelegraph, described the death of Oshunuga as mystifying. Monarch and student Police arrest Imo monarch for allegedly killing IMSU graduate Tragedy struck in Umueze community, in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State on Wednesday, after the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Opara, allegedly killed a 25-year-old graduate, Uchenna Opara, aka Junior. The incident occurred on around 6.15pm at the community’s primary school playground. Scores of youths were seen setting the palace ablaze, including destroying the suspect’s Nissan car. The youth leader of the community, Bethel Iwuoha said that while one of the security guards of the monarch, Atuonye Opara, allegedly cocked the pump-action rifle, Eze allegedly pulled the trigger. Iwuoha said immediately the bullet hit Junior, a 2017 graduate of Library and Information Science of the Imo State University, Owerri, on the chest, the monarch and his security aide hurriedly entered into a car and fled from the scene. Wizkid crowned best African artist at AFRIMA

Nigerian sensation Wizkid retained his best artist title at this year’s African Music Awards, as he carried off a clutch of prizes at a glitzy ceremony in Lagos. The 27-year-old Afrobeats star — real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun — beat his compatriot Davido and Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo to the top award. He also won the best song category for “Come Closer” and the prize for best West African artist. AFRIMA 2017, now in its fourth year, is considered the equivalent of the US Grammys and was held on Sunday evening at a luxury hotel in Nigeria’s economic and entertainment hub. The African Union-backed awards are designed to celebrate the continent’s booming music industry and were this year broadcast live to 84 countries on 109 different channels. Lagos CP We didn’t arrest Bobrisky, says Lagos CP The Lagos State Acting Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has distanced the command from the arrest of popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, nicknamed Bobrisky, saying no report was made against her. Edgal, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone on Wednesday, said, “I don’t know about the arrest, and the command did not arrest him. He does not have any problem with the command. Ask him who arrested him.” The Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, SP Dolapo Badmos, also denied the arrest of the cross-dresser. She said, “I am not aware of the arrest. Maybe he was arrested by somewhere else.” Many online users have also speculated that an alleged social media war between the socialite and entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani, may have led to his arrest. 42 suspected armed robbers, cultists escape from SARS detention in Yenagoa

About 42 suspected armed robbers and cultists detained by the Special Anti Robbery Squad cell in Yenagoa on Tuesday broke free from detention and escaped. A Policeman attached to the SARS, who was drafted to cordon off the facility, said that they were still taking stock of the number of inmates that had escaped. “The cell holds more than 50 suspects but it is empty, so it is difficult to give an accurate number until they check the records, but we hear that 42 criminals were being detained,” the Policeman said. The suspects broke through the back section of the cell and scaled into the Yenagoa Local Government premises. A police source said that one of the escapee suspects had been re-arrested while the search for others had begun. The Spokesman of the Police Command in Bayelsa, DSP Asinin Butswat, said the incident was being investigated but that the details were sketchy.
